What Florida Medicaid Actually Covers for Long-Term Care

Florida's Long-Term Care (LTC) Medicaid Waiver program can cover adult day care, in-home support, transportation, and a range of other services for qualifying seniors. It is administered through the Department of Elder Affairs and the regional Area Agency on Aging.

Eligibility has two prongs: clinical (needs assistance with daily activities) and financial (income and asset limits, with allowable spend-downs and protections for a community spouse). The application process can take several months and involves a CARES assessment.
