  • Non-Compete & Non-Solicitation Agreement
  • Anti-Poaching / No private engagement of clients
  • HIPAA-style confidentiality acknowledgment
  • Mandatory reporter acknowledgment
  • Code of conduct and media policy

These agreements protect our families, participants, staff, and the center's training, vetting, and goodwill investment. Full terms are provided with the offer of employment and reviewed before signing. See our Policies & Procedures page for additional detail.

We host college and graduate-level interns in healthcare administration, social work, nursing, gerontology, OT/PT, recreational therapy, public health, and nonprofit management. Staff Standards & Background Screening

The standards we hold our team to — and why.

Our participants are vulnerable adults. Their families trust us with the most important person in their lives. That trust requires standards — clear, written, enforced, and verified. Below is what every staff member, intern, contractor, and volunteer is required to meet before they ever interact with a participant.

Background Screening (Required Pre-Hire)

  • Florida Level II AHCA fingerprint screening (FDLE + FBI)
  • ✓ Clearance against Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
  • ✓ Search of OIG, GSA, Florida abuse/neglect registry
  • ✓ Sex offender registry search (state + national)
  • ✓ Disqualifying offenses per Florida Ch. 435 / 408
  • ✓ Re-screening every 5 years (or sooner per role)

Health & Compliance

  • ✓ Current TB test / risk assessment
  • ✓ Physical clearance (role-dependent)
  • ✓ CPR / First Aid / AED current certification
  • ✓ HIPAA training upon hire & annually
  • ✓ Alzheimer's / Dementia training (direct-care roles)
  • ✓ Drug screening (pre-hire + random)

Required Agreements

  • ✓ Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
  • ✓ Non-Compete & Non-Solicitation Agreement
  • ✓ Anti-Poaching (no private engagement of families)
  • ✓ HIPAA confidentiality acknowledgment
  • ✓ Mandatory reporter acknowledgment (FL elder abuse)
  • ✓ Code of conduct & social media policy
  • ✓ At-will employment acknowledgment

Conduct Standards

  • ✓ Dignity & respect — every participant, every shift
  • ✓ No photos/videos of participants posted anywhere
  • ✓ No personal phone use during direct care
  • ✓ No gifts, loans, or financial entanglement with families
  • ✓ No private side-work for current participants
  • ✓ Immediate reporting of incidents, falls, behavior changes
  • ✓ Dress code & badge visible at all times

Violations of background screening, agreements, or conduct standards are grounds for immediate termination, regulatory reporting where required, and — for confidentiality, NDA, non-compete, and anti-poaching violations — civil action. Full written policies are provided at hire. See the Policies & Procedures page for additional detail.
